According to Audi, the new Q3 is primarily intended to arouse more emotions and for this the designers have done a lot of work on the exterior. At the front, the new single-frame grille immediately catches the eye, which, together with the much slimmer headlights, leaves a more alert impression.

The designers have also been busy at the rear and have slimmed down the rear lights and divided them in two. Underneath is a light strip that runs across the entire width of the vehicle and emphasizes the beefier shape of the Q3. The rear is completed by a diffuser integrated into the bumper.

To individualize the exterior, there are eleven paint finishes to choose from and wheel designs in sizes 17 to 20 inches. As an additional treat, Audi has also provided the option for the digital Matrix LED headlights for the Audi Q3. This not only makes it safer to drive thanks to additional supports such as lane and orientation lights when changing lanes or in construction sites, but also enables light signatures and staging when locking and unlocking the vehicle.

The coupé version of the Q3, the Audi Q3 Sportback, is likely to follow at a later date.

In terms of engines, Audi is continuing the hybridization of the model range and offers a 1.5-liter gasoline mild hybrid with 150 hp and seven-speed automatic transmission as a new entry-level model. In addition to electrification, the decommissioning of the second and third cylinders at low and medium loads is also intended to make the Audi Q3 much more efficient.

Above the entry-level model is the TFSI quattro with 204 hp, which offers 320 Nm of torque and all-wheel drive, the top combustion engine model is the Audi Q3 TFSI quattro with a two-liter four-cylinder with 265 hp, all-wheel drive and 400 Nm of torque.

For long-distance efficiency, there is also a 150 hp diesel with 360 Nm of torque, front-wheel drive and seven-speed automatic. The most powerful model is the plug-in hybrid with the designation Audi Q3 e-hybrid with 272 hp system output and 400 Nm system torque. The plug-in hybrid has a 25.7 kWh battery on board and thus achieves almost 120 km of purely electric range according to WLTP. Charging takes place with up to 50 kW charging power, which corresponds to charging from 10 to 80% of the battery in less than half an hour.

The new generation of the Audi Q3 also comes with a new damper system and a further developed standard suspension. For an extra charge, there is also a sports suspension or a two-valve damper control. Depending on the driver's preference, the handling can be trimmed for comfort or sportiness.

There are nine different interior packages made of sustainable materials to choose from for customising your own Q3. In the interior of the new Audi Q3, as in the other current Audi models, there is again a softwrap that runs across the entire width, while in the middle the so-called Digital Stage as a panoramic display combines the digital instruments (11.9 inches) and the touchscreen for the infotainment (12.8 inches).

These are slightly inclined towards the driver's seat and, like the head-up display, are entirely geared towards the driver. There are two new levers on the steering wheel: one for gear selection and then a combined lever for windshield wipers and lights. This gives more space in the center console, so that two cup holders and an inductive, lockable charging cradle fit inside.

Optionally available ambient lighting in the interior is intended to set the scene for the interior even in the dark, and so the front doors with large-scale lighting can now also be booked. 30 different colours and also adjustments to the light when the vehicle is unlocked and locked provide even more individualisation.

There is 488 liters of storage space in the trunk, which can be expanded to 575 liters with the sliding rear seat. If more space is needed, up to 1,386 litres can be freed up with the seats folded down.

In terms of infotainment, the new compact SUV relies on Android Automotive as the operating system, so that apps such as YouTube can be easily integrated via the Audi App Store. In addition, there is a voice assistant with AI support, which is displayed as an avatar in the central screen.
